Jewelry care
How to care for your jewelry
To ensure your jewelry lasts longer, we recommend removing your jewelry before getting wet. That means taking it off before showering, swimming, exercising, or cleaning. When you're not wearing your pieces, we recommend storing it inside a jewelry display, container, or bag.
To clean, just wash with warm water and a mild dish detergent. Use a soft toothbrush to get into the crevices, and dry your jewelry afterwards with a soft cloth to take out the moisture and prevent it from tarnishing.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver does slowly tarnish over time from moisture or chemicals, but there are ways to slow down that process. If you happen to get your sterling silver wet, make sure to dry it with a soft cloth afterwards. Sterling silver make get some scratches or lose its shine after a while, this is because sterling silver is softer than other metals. The good news is that you can repolish it by going to your local jeweler and getting a professional service to bring it back to life.
Plated Jewelry
Rhodium and gold plated jewelry is very resistant as it is plated over a stronger base metal. That means it's more resistant resistant to tarnishing—though sometimes moisture and chemicals may still cause tarnish. Avoid exposure to perfumes, sanitizer, and cleaning products to ensure your jewelry lasts longer. To clean, use the method mentioned above.
Pearls
Pearls are all natural, and actaully respond pretty well to wear. Just like any piece, make sure to protect your pearls from harsh chemicals. To clean, just gently wash with mild detergent and water and a soft toothbrush.
Gemstones
Gemstones are all natural, and come in have varying degrees of hardness and porosity, so it’s best to treat them as you would pearls.
